My First Triptych

This is the first triptych that I have ever created, and it involved a bit of a learning curve. It was made entirely in GIMP, a free and open source photo manipulation program. I highly recommend trying it out, especially if you’re like me and don’t have an obscene amount of cash just laying around, ready to be spent on a Photoshop CS4 license.

So, without further ado:

"A Walk In Someone Else's Shoes..."

"A Walk In Someone Else's Shoes..."

The interesting thing about life is that you can probably tell a lot more about a person by looking at their shoes, than you can by mere physical appearance. Are the shoes polished and bright, or are they worn and aged? Are the shoes cutting-edge fashion, or are they last year’s style? Are they clean, or are they dirty and unkempt?

Shoes are the only things in life that stay with us no matter where we go. The stories they tell are the stories of our lives, embodied in a clothing item that usually ends its life in a most tragic way: the common garbage can. We use our shoes until we feel we can get no more use out of them, and then we simply dispose of them. We throw away what might quite possibly offer the most unique perspective on human existence ever seen on earth.

How can we even sleep at night?
